Thank you for the positive feedback regarding our return to the old format of our newsletter. While we have maintained the new look and feel, the desire to scroll and read all articles has been well received.

This time of the year is very busy for staff and students, especially those who have commenced their final exams. Because of the size of our College and the number of students enrolled in particular WACE subjects, the Dickinson Centre is used by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority as one of its examination centres. Consequently over the exam period you may well see a variety of school uniforms at Scotch. The reason for this is that students from other schools and colleges are sometimes allocated Scotch as their examination venue. The College does not direct this in anyway nor select which schools use the centre. It is a common practice that also results in some of our own students taking exams off site at other exam centres. This is just another example of the logical sharing of resources and support of each other across the state education sector. Scotch families with a boy requiring them to attend another venue for their exams were made aware of this by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority before the commencement of their exams.

The early move into the new Middle School has been a real bonus for our students and staff. However, it now means that the second phase of our building project has commenced a lot earlier than planned. On the 11 November we will commence the demolition of some of the old buildings. This will necessitate the removal of the materials resulting from the demolition. Once we have a schedule for this work we will let the College community and neighbours know how this will effect movement and parking around the school. Phase one of the project went extremely smoothly as a result of the understanding showed by everyone. I thank you in anticipation of your ongoing support with this exciting phase of development for Scotch College.

Once again I ask everyone to keep our Year 12s who are sitting the WACE and IB Diploma exams in your thoughts and prayers. I know how well the boys have been prepared and trust they will approach each exam with confidence.

Our College campuses received a timely upgrade thanks to the generous assistance of the Parents Association who had the foresight to see the need for well identifiable waste stations around the school. These products are made of recycled plastic hence reducing their footprint. While are aesthetically pleasing they serve a very specific purpose: reducing Scotch College's waste footprint. Unsurprisingly with anything new, there are a few teething issues with the bins needing to be used effectively. With the right information and proper education every one in our community can make the right choices. Boys need to put any recyclable product (such as empty plastic bottles, milk cartons, cardboard, paper or aluminium cans) into the yellow bins. All other general waste (such as food, glad wrap and metallic or flimsy plastic packaging) should go in the red bin. The same concept has been introduced in the library. The attached pictures illustrate this in more detail. A little common sense is needed to make this work and every student's contribution in respecting our campus is not only appreciated, but very much expected of a Scotch boy.

COMMUNITY AND SERVICE

Stablemen and the A Team

It is coming to that time of the year when the current Year 10 boys rank their choices of the service activities they will wish to complete in 2014. On offer once more will be a dozen or so different service options, as well as Cadets and Senior First Aid. The programme aims to provide all Year10 boys with a substantial experience of service in four different activities. While providing the service is of course important to the recipients, the boys also learn about diverse groups in society and better understand how care agencies and facilities operate.

One activity that has been very successful is the 'A Team' - where the 'A' stands for Advocacy. The boys in this group attempt to understand the issues behind the problems faced by different groups, including the intellectually and physically disabled. As well as visiting facilities and talking to people in such groups, the boys try to inform the broader Scotch community through assembly presentations and information posters. This past year, boys opting for the 'A Team' have been visited by members of the UnitedCare West - 'Take Time' group and have walked down to 'Romily House' to better understand what it is like to have a mental illness.

Another activity in which Year 10 boys serve is 'Stablemen', working in the Claremont Therapeutic Riding Centre. While the boys mainly work 'mucking out' the stables - performing laboring work that allows the organization the time to get on with the job providing horse riding experiences for disabled participants.

Year 2 Boys To Paint A Good Samaritan Bin

Scotch Junior School took delivery of a Good Samaritan bin last term with the aim of painting three sides with flower motives. The bin will ultimately be placed to allow the Scotch community to deposit clothing and toys. The special bin, without the usual markings, will be unique in the family of Good Sammy bins. The organization has plans to roll out bin painting to other schools and perhaps run a competition to judge the most creative.

Tanzania Expedition Fundraiser

The group of Scotch boys and Presbyterian Ladies' College girls going on the Tanzania Expedition next year are hoping to start the construction of a new Trade Learning Centre for the village of Matipwili, the site of previous service trips. This facility, designed with assistance of architects from Perth and Adelaide, will substantially add to teaching and learning facilities for the village.

A number of fundraising activities have been planned in the remainder of this year:

• Peel Estate Winery is supporting the project by offering cases of wine for Christmas at very reasonable prices. An order form can be found here

• The expedition group will be holding a biscuit stall at the Cottesloe Hullabaloo on November 9. This event takes place in the main shopping precinct. The Tanzania 2014 stall selling home-made biscuits will be towards the Stirling Highway end of Napolean Street.

• On Friday November 22, a Matipwili Rafiki Quiz Night (friend of Matipwili Village) will be held in the Dickinson Centre commencing at 7.30pm. This will be a multi-media event with guest MC. • The Tanzania Expedition group is also selling Christmas Cards. These are unique, designed by an in-house graphic designer and featuring 'Scotty Dog' and the Scottish tartans used by the College. An order form can be found here

Sweaters for Syria

The relief effort as a result crisis in Syria has reached a critical point with winter about to hit. The Salvation Army is collecting 'Sweaters for Syria' and a shipment will be sent off in the next few weeks. With our summer ahead this may coincide with a clear out of some winter clothing - jumpers, beanies and gloves. Over 2 million refugees, including 740000 children will be exposed to extreme cold this Christmas. Please have a look through cupboards and see what can be donated - particularly suitable for children up to 11 years of age. Please bring items to the Receptions of any of the three sub-schools before Friday 8 in order that they can be included in the shipment to Syria.

Operation Santa and Homeless Connect

At this time of year, there is a demand for good second hand and new clothing for distribution at the Homeless Connect Day, organised by Volunteering WA and the City of Perth. This event takes place in Russell Square in Northbridge and allows homeless members of our community access to government agencies and professional services. Scotch and PLC IB Diploma students will be assisting to set up facilities as part of their service requirement. Food and toys are required for the Unitedcare West 'Operation Santa' collection that will help make Christmas more festive for many individuals and families in need. The last few weeks were busy for Scotch College musicians with a trip to Rottnest for the Senior Concert Band boys, Grandparents' Day performances for the Junior School boys and a Year 7 Concert Band performance for the Middle School Orientation Day. Behind the scenes, the new 2014 Music Handbook has been created and the outgoing FOSM committee members were thanked at their AGM. Your son will have most of the uniform required for Year 8, but to avoid congestion and long queues in the Uniform Shop at this busy time of year, we encourage you to make an appointment. The Year 12 blazers have arrived in the Uniform Shop. They are stocked in a selection of youth and men's sizes. There are a limited number of blazers per size. Because of the unknown nature of the overall size of Year 12 boys and to avoid disappointment, it is recommended that you come in for sizing ASAP. We recommend that a parent or guardian accompany the boy when purchasing.

Developing Leadership in Boys

Developing people of good character is part of our mission at Scotch. In the Junior School we offer many opportunities for the boys to lead. This will develop and increase as they move through the College. Boys will be given responsibility in class to monitor, sort and manage areas within the room. This will teach them to importance of following set rules and meeting expectations as well as appreciation of working to deserve the trust that has been placed in them. For our youngest boys this is a learning journey and they will require support and guidance as they mature. As the boys move through the school they will be given further opportunities to lead in many different areas whether that be in sporting teams, chapel, music or the arts.

We are introducing a new level of leadership for our boys in the Junior School for 2014. Our Year 5 boys will be our first cohort or Junior School Captains and will work with our teachers to develop these important roles. The Captains will be boys who lead by example and will set the standard to how to conduct oneself in class, in the playground and in all school events. The captains, as will all Year 5 boys, will be looked up to by the boys in the Junior School as role models and examples of the type of student we look to develop at Scotch.

Mrs McNally and I will be working with the Year 4 boys to develop the leadership programme. Together we will decide the type of leaders we feel a Scotch Captain should be. We will also set out our programme for developing leadership skills and opportunities for all boys in Year 5 in 2014.

Boys in Year 4 have nominated for Captain positions. They will present a speech to the Junior School outlining why they feel they will be good captains and leaders in our school on Tuesday 5 November at 2pm in the MacKellar Hall. The staff and boys in Year 1 to 4 will then vote for who they feel will best demonstrate the qualities they believe make a good captain. The successful candidates will be announced at our final Junior School assembly in Friday 29 November at 2pm in the MacKellar Hall.

The Captaincy positions for 2014 will be:

Supporting this Captaincy Leadership Programme will be our Class Representatives Council. Two students from each class will elected by their peers to represent them at the bi-weekly council meeting. The issues they raise will be discussed and the Chair and Secretary will them meet with me to see what suggestions can be put into action. The Class Representatives and School Captains will change each semester. These positions will be advertised at the commencement of the 2014 academic year.

These new initiatives for 2014 will further support our leadership development programme and provide roles for our boys to aspire to. I look forward to working with our Year 4 boys to set the bar for other students to aspire to.

Why not give it a go?

Last week a competition was advertised that is open to anybody up to age 16. The competition is to design some artwork using any media in A3 size that would look good on a pair of board shorts. Entries are to be submitted at the OZ HULLABALOO on Napoleon Street, Cottesloe on Saturday November 9. It is great to have arts initiatives like this come up within our community because it gives the boys an opportunity to engage with the Arts, and create and express their own style and ideas.

Congratulations to Damian Haynes in 5D who has taken the weekend to play with ideas and create a design. This type of behaviour; showing interest, sharing skills and ideas, and being proactive highlights the kind of attributes we will be looking for in our Year 5 captains next year.

Damian forwarded his artwork to me to view and I would like to share it with all the boys, to give them some inspiration and show them how easy it is to be proactive if you have:

• A clear goal and criteria to address.
• Passion and interest in expressing your ideas.
• Self-Management skills to manage your time and meet the set deadline.

Boys using ALL of their senses

It has been a pleasure watching the year 1 students engage in Art using "all of their senses." In class they are engaged in a Sharing the Planet unit that focuses on the importance of plants. In Art we have been investigating the properties of herbs, and boys have done amazing observation drawings. They are extending these drawings into designs for terracotta pots, which they will later pot plants in.

They had to close their eyes to heighten their sense of smell. The boys' comments were so emotive and authentic. One boy after smelling basil remarked how it smelt like pesto, which is a great connection as a key ingredient in pesto is basil. They were all open minded to the new experience and really seemed to enjoy using their sense of smell and exploring their environment in new ways. The drawings also show authenticity, as the boys could not simply draw what they thought a plant might look like, they were drawing from real pots of herbs. This meant that they investigated closely the type of stems, the shape of leaves, the positioning of leaves up the stem, the tiny hairs on some herbs, and the vein patterns on others. Even though we were doing accurate observation drawings, their individual personalities still come through. Some boys' drawings are botanical and neat, while others are loose and flowing, some focusing on just their favourite herb. It really is lovely to watch them work in Art. Please feel free to drop into the Art Studio and see the wonderful pots or other artwork being created by the boys.

Celebration of Learning

At Scotch Junior School we celebrate and share our learning in many different ways. We do this formally, for example with written reports and parent/teacher interviews, and informally, such as our annual Grandparents Day which took place on October 25.

For those who weren't able to attend, Grandparents Day was a wonderful celebration for both the boys and their very special guests. The boys were proud and happy to share snapshots of their life at Scotch Junior School. Grandparents observed - and in some cases participated in - learning activities, and also attended a mini assembly. There was definitely an air of excitement around the school.

Providing opportunities for the boys to share and celebrate learning are important as they not only help facilitate ownership and responsibility of learning, build self-confidence and communication, but sharing brings our school community closer together. Grandparents are an important part of our Scotch learning community.

Investigating Inventions

This term the boys of 4L have all been working extremely well. They have embraced our current unit of inquiry on How the World Works whole-heartedly. Our class immersion table is full of wonderful items relating to inventions both old and new, as the boys have enthusiastically shared their knowledge of inventions and made connections to the central idea. One of our formative tasks for the inquiry was to design an outline to help them collect data and information about a famous inventor. It is fantastic to witness the improvement all the boys have made throughout the year as they proudly created well-organised graphic organisers. As part of the task the boys are also writing a biography, and the standard of writing is excellent! It is very exciting to see the boys use sophisticated punctuation to enhance their writing. Congratulations to the 4L boys for working to full capacity at all times.

It was such a pleasure to be involved in Grandparents Day this year. The relationship you have with your grandparents certainly is a special one. In my opinion, one of those special reasons is because grandparents make the best audience. When grandchildren learn a new poem, some fancy dance moves, or their first violin piece, they count on their grandparents to watch, listen and applaud. Perhaps that is the reason why so many boys were eager to join either the Performing Arts Club or Junior School Vocal Ensemble so that they could perform at the special Grandparents Day assemblies! Either way, it was lovely to see how proud the boys were to take a bow in front of their loved ones. We hope to see you return for more fabulous performances at the Junior School/Middle School End of Year Concert on Friday 8 November.

A child with more than one good friend is less likely to be bullied than a child who is often alone or who has only one friend. Children who bully others are careful to avoid those children who have assertive and supportive friends.

How can families help their children to make friends?

• Make sure that your children play with other children at school, at home and in your neighbourhood.
• At home, encourage your children to talk and maintain contact with their extended family - uncles, aunts, cousins and grandparents - and to talk with adult family friends.
• Invite other children to your home for visits, and show your children how to make their guests feel welcome.
• Help your children to make new friends by encouraging them to develop other interests and hobbies, such as sport, Scouts, dance, drama or music.
• Take your children on holidays to places where there are other children of a similar age.

It was wonderful to see grandparents and special friends visit the Junior School last Friday. Grandparents with grandsons in Years 2 and 3 were put through their paces using the iPads when they visited the classrooms. The boys demonstrated how to use the versatile Explain Everything app, and were able to show drawings, audio and video they had compiled about their grandparents.

The Year 2 boys compared favourite things with their grandparents and the Year 3 boys shared why their grandparents were special to them. They really enjoyed being able to teach their grandparents on the iPads and share their learning easily and effectively.

Bonjour! In the Spring term, the Year 4 classes will be learning about the weather during French class. They will be studying the relevant vocabulary in order to describe the weather in French. We will also be looking the seasons, and the differences and similarities between the northern and southern hemispheres. Finally, the boys will use this newly acquired knowledge to create a weather report on a French speaking country, which they will then present to the class.

This term we have hit the ground running and we are all busily preparing for the end of the year.

In Health and Physical Education all of the boys are working hard to finish off their last remaining units for the year.

Our JPSSA boys in Year 4 have played their last remaining JPSSA carnival. This was a Basketball carnival, which was held at the state basketball stadium. All of the boys gave their best and represented the school to the best of their ability.

The end of the JPSSA spring season is fast approaching. With only four games remaining our Year 5 and 6 boys are eager to finish off what has been a fantastic JPSSA season.

Time for Transition

Last Friday's Middle School Assembly really showcased the growth in our Middle School boys. Whilst their physical development and marching ability are the most obvious, their response to big issues and questions, their willingness to help a friend in need, show compassion, and to have a greater appreciation for the opportunities they have is a great reward for us all as we approach the end of another year.

We have two more Middle School Assemblies left this year, with our final Awards Assembly in Week 7 that recognises boys who have demonstrated the IBO Learner Profiles and Attitudes on a consistent basis across the curriculum throughout the year.

The Transition element of the Middle School mission is an aspect taking on greater emphasis this term as we prepare boys and classes for next year. Orientation Day two weeks ago gave boys the chance to see and experience where they will be next year and to understand how the expectations upon them grow. In Week 5 Year 7 boys will spend several days on the Senior School campus as we give them an opportunity to understand their new environment and the movement, behaviour and self-management expectations they need to contend with next year.

After four years at Scotch College Mr Stuart Shirley 7S will be moving on at the end of this year, after accepting a position at Brisbane Grammar School commencing in 2014. We are in the process of recruiting to replace Mr Shirley. Mrs Anna Couzic will commence 12 months Maternity Leave at the start of 2014. Congratulations to Mrs Katie Frampton who gave birth to Lillian Rose Frampton on 25 October.

Important Dates in Middle School Spring Term

Life in Ancient Egypt

From the start of this term the boys of 7PG have been studying Ancient Egypt as a part of their iLearn subject. The boys are investigating the way ancient civilizations rose to power and the features of their day-to-day life in order to better understand the present and form the future of our society.

The boys have fully engaged with the theme and are enjoying the opportunity to research topics of their choice and find out more about different aspects of ancient life such as mummification, the god and goddesses and the pharaohs.

Currently boys are performing a Science experiment at home. The idea is that they have to choose a substance to mummify a beef sausage with and comment and observe the effectiveness of their chosen substance.

Finally the boys are also gearing up to create a class documentary on the various aspects of life in Ancient Egypt.

Excellence Awards

AIM HIGH

Last Tuesday evening, the Parents' Association hosted a Fathers' Forum featuring John Worsfold as the guest speaker. John is well known to many through his outstanding career as a player and coach in the AFL. His tough, uncompromising approach as a player and his experience and guidance of players as a senior coach at the West Coast Eagles has seen him become a highly influential role model to young men for well over two decades.

At the Scotch College Fathers' Forum, John shared some of his experiences and stressed the importance of a vision in achieving your personal best. Fundamental to this vision was to aim high - be the best you can be. His examples included him running to and from football training when others drove. As a player at the highest level, he completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy and three years ago decided to start piano lessons as a new challenge. Only yesterday he ran a marathon. Many other stories were shared, all with a similar message; seek challenge, put a plan in place and commit. The stories and experiences shared served as powerful examples to all those present about what can be achieved with vision and discipline.

At last week's assembly, Lach Pethick, Captain of School, outlined the student leadership group's theme for the year ahead - exceed expectations. Lach's message, like John Worsfold's, was to aim high. Lach urged the boys in the Senior School to set high expectations, not only academically or in a chosen co-curricular activity but importantly as people.

With the beginning of a new academic year, there is no better time for boys in all year groups to reflect on the year just passed, set high expectations and put a plan in place to achieve new goals. Expectations, like goals and New Year's resolutions, are often worded in the future tense. Our challenge at home and at school is to connect our boy's expectations and goals with their immediate actions.

Australian National Chemistry Quiz

In the annual event held in July, almost six thousand West Australian students from Years 8 to 12 sat the Quiz. Scotch College entered one hundred and eighty-nine Scotch students this year, which represented our largest number compared to previous years.

One of our Scotch students achieved a High Distinction Excellence (highest score in the State), twenty-two a High Distinction (top 1% performers in the State) and twenty-eight a Distinction (next 10% in the State).

Notre Dame University Application for 2014

Notre Dame University is still accepting applications for Semester 1, 2014. Applications can be made directly to the university and do not incur an application or late fee. Please contact the Prospective Students Office on 9433 0533 to make an appointment for a campus tour, to receive course and application advice or to be sent an application pack.

NDU is offering a Tertiary Enabling Programme (TEP) which is an alternative entry programme to undergraduate studies at Notre Dame. This course is available to students who did not reach the minimum entrance score for university in their ATAR and also to students who completed Year 12 but did not undertake ATAR subjects. The University of Western Australia

The University of WA is once again running a design studio during the January vacation for students entering Year 12 in 2014. This studio will cover architecture, landscape architecture, media, urban design and visual arts. Students do not require any prior knowledge or artistic skills to participate. They will get a feel for what it is like to study Bachelor of Design units at UWA, and develop new skills under the tutelage of Faculty staff.

The focus this year will be a small scale design project centred on the area in and around the Perth Cultural Centre.

A Gap Medics Work Experience placement

Aspiring medics between the ages of 16 -25 can join Gap Medics this summer on the Australian Summer Special in Thailand or Tanzania from 5 January 2014. Here they will shadow healthcare professionals in a variety of departments, getting a real-life insight into the work of medical professionals in a new and exciting country. No amount of work experience available back home in Australia will measure up!

Alongside gaining beneficial work experience, students will be able to get together with fellow Australians and experience everything the amazing destination has to offer. From days spent running around the busy hospital wards, to evenings watching wildlife down by the waterhole or cooking over an open fire with all of the fellow housemates. There are even wildlife safaris and hill-tribe treks to uncover at the weekends for those who are looking for a bit more exploration!

• Students are collected from the airport and all live in our Gap Medics houses together with 64 other students, all the same age from all over the world
• Mon-Friday students work in the hospitals from 8am to around 2pm
• They shadow doctors, dentists, nurses and midwifes in a variety of departments
• The main areas of the hospital that they work in are Obstetrics, Surgery, Paediatrics and General Medicine
• 3 times per week they have a clinical teaching session where they are all brought together to discuss and interpret what they see on placement
• Weekends are time for travel with other students and our staff
• All food is included
• We have 24/7 security at all houses
• We send 3000 students from across the world each year

Parents' Association

The Parents' Association sponsored event "Fathers' Forum" with John Worsfold held on 29 October was a great success. John spoke about the importance of having a Vision, and developing leadership skills by establishing strong values and beliefs in a structured environment, then learning from the experiences that brings and finally touched on the importance of communication and getting your message across. An inspirational talk from an inspirational man, which was very relevant to our Scotch Community, and an evening those who attended will remember for a while, if the question-time after the presentation was anything to go by.

It was great to see so many Mums and grandparents there too.

Thank you to all the helpers we had at Year 8 Orientation Morning Tea. It was a lovely morning on the lawns at The Residence and a great introduction to our Senior School community for our new parents at Scotch.

Preparations have begun for the 2014 Year 12 Ball. The theme is Year of the Dragon and tickets are on sale through "Book a Scotch Event" on the web site. Please get your tickets before the end of the year as this will help the organisers enormously.

We are seeking some parent help with the Ball and if you think you have some time can you email clairstanley@iinet.net.au

We are busy organising Parent Reps for 2014 and have the new reps for Senior School in transition this term. However we do need volunteers for 2014 Year's 8, 9 and 11. If you can be a rep could you email soniamwee@gmail.com with your contact details.

Valedictory Dinner is on November 29 and if you have some time during the morning, please come to the Dickinson Centre to help the setup. It's a sit down dinner for nearly 550 people so we can't have too many helpers. As with tradition, the Year 11 (2013) Parents help with the dinner on the night. The annual Christmas Fare Order Form is available on-line via Flexischools from Wednesday 6 November. Besides some of the traditional offerings like smoked salmon, Christmas treats, a selection of glassware and Scotch aprons, tea towels and rugs there are some exciting new items on offer including 100% pure new wool bow ties and scarves made in Scotland in the unofficial Scotch College tartan as worn by the Pipe Band. The next and final PBPSG meeting for the year will be held in the Gooch Pavilion at 7:30pm on Thursday 14 November. This meeting will include the handover to the 2014 Committee as well as an acknowledgement and celebration of the efforts and contributions of the finishing Year 12 Pipe Band parents. The meeting will be short followed by a social gathering.

NEWS FLASH! The 2014 Scottish Banquet will be held on Friday 2 May at the end of the first week of 2^nd term next year. The organising committee are planning to take the event to the Dickinson Centre for the first time so that many more people in the Scotch Community can partake in this unique and fabulous night and experience. Tickets won't go on sale until first term next year but put the date in your diary now - it is not to be missed!

Summer's coming, and the year is drawing to a close. A couple of last social events will just about finish us off. We'd love you to join us at either one (or both, of course!).

BEER & BRATWURST AT THE BEACH (4 December @ North Cott Surf Club)

Early December sees the OSC host its annual Sundowner - in a change with tradition this year, the event is to be held at the North Cottesloe Surf Life Saving Club - where we'll hold a "Beer & Bratwurst Night". So… pull on your "Lederhosen" and join your mates and the OSC Committee for a few contemplative cold beers and fellowship as we see the sun set beach-side at North Cott! There will be some great German-inspired meat on the BBQ, and the best view on the west coast.

We'd particularly like to welcome as many younger OSCs as we can to join us for our last social event of the year. You'll find it a great occasion to meet and network with Senior OSCs who just might be able to point you in the right direction career wise with advice and referrals. (We like to think we're of some value!)

Equally, Senior OSCs and the Committee wish to hear from you, your voice is important as we move forward to shape the Old Scotch Collegians into a more meaningful membership based organisation.

It has been a significant year, and we are proud to be building the OSC organisation on a long history and solid foundations. But we will always continue to evolve. Come along and tell us your ideas about what you want out of the OSC over a cold one ….

VacSwim Holiday Swimming Programs

ROTARY CLUB OF FRESHWATER BAY

Tenor Richard Symons and Soprano Isabelle Freeman will perform at a Fundraising Concert for the Rotary Club of Freshwater Bay on Saturday, 9 November.

Isabelle has a Bachelor of Music and Graduate Diploma in Classical Voice from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). Her 2013 engagements include Soprano Soloist in Carl Orff's Carmina Burana at St George's Cathedral and Soprano Soloist with Western Australian Youth Orchestra's Music by Moonlight concert.

Richard, a Christchurch Grammar School old boy, recently performed in a WAAPA production of Little Women and the Western Australian Ballet's world premiere of Pinnochio. In November 2012 he was awarded the Sir Robert Askin Operatic Traveling Scholarship to pursue further training in New York in early 2014.
