Primary Years Programme (PYP)
IB PYP Curriculum: Welcome back to our 2016 school year
Welcome back everyone.
Our new staff started on Thursday 21 January and all teachers were officially back in action on Thursday 28 January.
The teaching team has started our professional learning for 2016 with a 4-hour session presented by Helen Edgeberg (Brinsden Professional) as part of our ongoing work relating to Assessment for Learning. We will follow this up with further sessions with Helen throughout the year.
For our new parents: In 2003 the Junior School was authorised to implement the Primary Years Programme (PYP). The PYP is a curriculum framework that guides our structures and pedagogy to ensure we are all working towards the same purpose of developing boys who can be life long learners and active global citizens. We are also striving to develop boys who reflect the Scotch Mission Statement:
"To develop boys of character with a strong self-understanding, a passion for sustained learning and spiritual learning who will become valued members of the global community".
An information session for parents new to Scotch College Junior School and the Primary Years Programme will be held later this term and more details will be distributed shortly.
