French
Bonjour everyone. In week 9 of last term, both of our Year 3 classes headed off on a rather tasty adventure - we all went on an excursion to a French café in Cottesloe. Marie Antoinette Café is owned by Sarah Aubault (a Scotch parent) and she has a fantastic area set up for groups, with large tables, French games and - the best bit - access to all of her wonderful, delicious crèpes, croissants and waffles. Our Scotch College gentlemen worked hard in their French lessons in the preceding weeks, practicing their orders from the menu. On the day, 50 boys spent the morning listening to French music and ordering their own choice of fantastic food, using the language in a real-life setting. It was a great day out, made easier by wonderful teamwork from Mme Turkich and Mme Springall as well as a collection of generous parent helpers. Thank you to the boys for showing what wonderful French speakers they are and to everyone else for getting involved and helping to make our morning out such a success.
