Medieval Times in 8O

At the end of Winter Term, Year 8O participated in the Middle School Medieval Festival, complementing the Humanities unit, The Medieval World. The event featured an interesting display of student work including medieval heraldry and authentic architecture of the time including 3D models of castles, monasteries, peasant's homes and cathedrals. On the night, students also had the opportunity to eat traditional food, watch a fighting display performed by The Grey Company and participate in a variety of experiences that illustrated what it would have been like in the Middle Ages. Activities included trying on armour, exploring different forms of weaponry of the time and partaking in traditional arts and crafts. Year 8O students thoroughly enjoyed learning about the period of history and loved the opportunity to experience some of the modules of their studies come to life.
