Painting with a new perspective
We have been using a new resource in the Art Studio with the Year 3 students paintings on canvas - mini table easels. It really helps the boys make good decisions about their painting compositions because of the perspective. It allows them the perspective of looking at eye level, just like someone viewing the artwork at an exhibition or on a wall. They were then given set criteria to self assess their painting compositions, making them more aware of their decisions about using key elements in artwork. Even with the set criteria, it was wonderful to see how differently they approached the painting and developed their own style; such as loose and expressive, controlled and neat, gentle and soft or bold and dynamic. The way someone paints, reveals a lot about their individual personality. Take a look!
