Sustainability

Vice-Captain of School, Bailey Banfield has arranged an initiative which saw the Year 11 boys who presented at the International Kids Teaching Kids conference at the end of October (http://www.scotch.wa.edu.au/view/news-archive-2014/20141105105552) engage with Year 6 students. Last Wednesday Thomas Gooch (Keys), Rory O'Sullivan (Ferguson) and Denver Quantrill (Shearer) delivered their powerful message to the group of attentive Middle School boys. The older boys delivered a strong and well prepared message on sustainability which they successfully supported with group activities. They moved around to each group, which really connected the younger boys to the task, demonstrating the hallmarks of good teaching. This was a great example of how student leadership can be a powerful role model for other students, the older boys are who the younger boys hope and aspire to be in the future. When they modelled and demonstrated the values that underpin the College ethos it was a powerful message that was well received.
