The boys in Year 1 have been engaging in a variety of activities including listening, singing, playing instruments, moving and miming in order to explore and experience music from different times and style contexts. In one of their favourite activities the boys discussed how they could turn a rock song, using instruments such as electric guitar, drums and keyboard, into a chamber music style piece. The boys had fabulous suggestions, which included using instruments such as the violin, harpsichord and tambour, plus a little drama and imagination! Over the next week the boys have been asked to bring in some of their favourite music from home so that we can compare their favourite styles.
