Middle School Build Phase 2

In the photo you can see just how close Phase Two of the Middle School build is to finishing. Lawn, garden beds and trees were installed last week, with the final components of electronics and fittings and the amazingly complex set of stairs leading from the Library to the ovals to be completed. The new Food Technology room is such an impressive addition to our campus it is tempting some staff to change careers. In the photo the library is on the right hand side, which will be the Junior and Middle School Library. Along with reading areas, work areas, 1 Degree facilities and an impressive balcony, the hidden jewel of this building is the enormous gallery space beneath it. The use of this space will be limited by our imagination with Outdoor Education already putting a creative proposal on how they might use the venue. The new building will be a showcase item during our Orientation Days on the 20 and 21 of October as we welcome new boys and families into the school. I am hopeful we will have the opportunity to show this fantastic new addition off to you prior to this in Week 1 of next term.

Piping in the Middle School

The Middle Years Pipe Band has had its first two combined sessions on the front lawn of the new Middle School building. It was a unique moment in the College's history and the boys were very proud of themselves, likewise was the odd parent who stayed on to catch a glimpse of their son perform. However there is no one prouder then Mr De Grussa who has been working with these boys for the past two years and has almost fulfilled his ambition of having Middle School boys ready and able to complete piping duties for the Middle School. For boys still interested in Pipes and Drums in Middle School there will be another intake of pipers in Year 6, 7 and 8 next year, with a drummer intake in Year 8.
