PA Open Meeting - 16 September
The Scotch College Parents' Association would like to extend an invitation to all parents to attend the Annual Open Meeting on September 16. This is a great opportunity to meet your representatives and find out more about what we do. Please come and see how your funds are spent improving your son's experience at Scotch. We hope you will join us for this chance to broaden your group of Scotch friends. The meeting will be held in the Gooch Pavilion at 7.30pm, Tuesday September 16. Year 10 Parents' Chinese Banquet - 19 September
Bookings close Friday 12 September for the Celebration Dinner for Year 10 parents who would like to enjoy a Chinese Banquet at the Shun Fung restaurant at the Barrack Street jetty on Friday evening, September 19. The Dinner coincides with the opening of the Year 10 Personal Project exhibition and the celebratory river cruise for the boys that follows it. Parents collect the boys from their river cruise at 10.30pm. For bookings, go to Scotch College website and 'Book a Scotch College Event'.

Fathers' Forum Event - 30 October
The Parents' Association is pleased to invite parents and boys to attend this special presentation by Mr Bill Beament, Managing Director of Northern Star Resources Limited. The presentation is a unique opportunity to hear directly from Bill, as he talks about his life in the WA gold mining industry, and the growth of Northern Star. This will be of great interest to boys (and girls) considering a career in the mining industry, and to parents with an interest in mining, investment and corporate growth stories.
The event will be held in the Dickinson Centre at 6.15pm on 30 October, 2014. Tickets will be available shortly via the School website www.scotch.wa.edu.au and 'Book a Scotch College event' $10 for adults (no charge for children and students). Mums are welcome too!

Funding Requests
The PA approved the following funding requests at its 12 August meeting: to provide funds for a visiting Scholar Programme whereby eminent individuals are invited to address the whole Scotch School community across a number of different forums (one Scholar per annum); to the Rowing Department to assist in the purchase of onboard telemetry for a rowing boat; and to a Keys House farewell lunch for Marilynn Freitag, who is retiring as Head of Boarding.
