The boys in Years 2, 3 and 4 have enthusiastically begun lessons focusing on the music of Ogham Soup, who will be performing their exciting repertoire for us in Week 6. Ogham is pronounced 'owem'. Ogham is the word for the ancient Irish 'alphabet', so the name of the group is an Irish take on 'Alphabet Soup'. Ogham Soup, which consists of three Melbourne-based musicians, present the very best of traditional Irish music, taking students on a musical journey the length and breadth of traditional Ireland. The performance shares songs, tunes, stories and humour that typically make traditional Irish music and culture popular the world over. We hope that parents will be able to enjoy this fabulous experience with us so keep an eye on this space for more information closer to the time!
