Telethon Kids Institute
I am a researcher at Telethon Kids Institute in Subiaco, within the Paediatric Respiratory Physiology (Kids Lung Health!) group. We currently require the help of children aged 3-17 for various studies looking at improving the lung health of children with asthma, cystic fibrosis as well as other conditions. The participation of healthy children in our research helps us to understand the difference between health and disease, which is integral to our research. All the studies we are currently running are very easy and good fun, and children usually really enjoy the experience as we have very experienced researchers that understand how to work with children to make our research fun! We also provide show bags of goodies as a thank you. Some parents choose to enrol their kids in our studies because it is good for children's extracurricular interests (many of the children have an interest in science or medicine and really gain a lot from the interactions with the scientists and doctors). Some schools also have a community service component, and participation in our studies can contribute towards this, as we can provide the relevant certificates and documents for this purpose. See below for contact information.
