Musical Moments in Middle School

It has been full steam ahead for the Middle School Music students at Scotch. The roll out of the Year 6 Concert Band Programme went very smoothly at the beginning of the year. The Year 6 boys have worked well within their ensemble and performed a selection of concert band pieces in a variety of styles ranging from Spanish, rock through to traditional hymn songs. The Year 7 students have begun their unit of inquiry about Australian music. They have performed Australian music within their classroom ensembles and have had the opportunity to research information about famous Australian musicians who have had a significant impact on the Australian music scene.

The Scotch Youth Voices have recently returned from the Fairbridge Festival Tour where they gave an incredible performance alongside Mr Andrew Winton to a very enthusiastic and appreciative audience.

Autumn Term is going to be very busy for the Middle School Music students. The upcoming Music Camp on June 3-4 will be filled with rehearsals, workshops and performances for all of the music students to participate in. The highlight of this term will be the Middle School Music Concert where the musical talents of the various Middle School boys will be showcased.
