Performing Arts News

As we draw near to the end of this year, I have been doing a little reflection on the inaugural year of Performing Arts at Scotch Junior School. I am just so proud of how the boys have embraced the new experiences presented to them with such open-mindedness. I have had a wonderful year getting to know all of the boys and discovering where their passions and talents lie. Over the past couple of weeks the boys have engaged in a little informal reflection themselves, letting me know which activities they enjoyed most and what they would really love to do next year. Surprisingly, not much has changed since our first discussion at the beginning of the year! The boys still love to play drama games, although they have become a lot more focused, which of course is a skill we aim to build on through the use of these games. Another passion for the boys is dance and movement, which might not be surprising, however it has been exciting to see how enthusiastic the boys have been in expressing their love for this subject.

I'd like to wish everyone a safe and happy summer holiday and I look forward to seeing you all in 2014 for what I'm sure will be another exciting year in Performing Arts.
