Year 12 Interviews and university applications
Mr Frusher has interviewed most of the Year 12 students to assist them with their TISC applications and other options for next year and beyond.
Applications for public universities (UWA, Murdoch, ECU and Curtin) must be made via TISC Online (web). All procedures for these application methods are outlined in the 2014 TISC GUIDE, of which all students have a copy. Applications for Notre Dame University must be completed separately on a written application form that is available from Mr Frusher.
NB: Please do not apply for entry to Notre Dame via TISC.
TAFE applications must be completed via the web by following the instructions at http://tasonline.tafe.wa.edu.au/OnlineLogon.aspx
All additional proof of employment and copies of reports need to be submitted via post to TAFE Admissions. If a student is in doubt about obtaining an ATAR sufficient for his required course at university, then a TAFE application should be submitted as a safety net.
Applications for all universities and TAFE close on Friday 27 September 2013, but students are advised to apply well before this date and not leave it to the last day. If parents have any concerns in regard to the above matters, please contact Mr Frusher at Scotch on 9383 6830 or PFrusher@scotch.wa.edu.au
UWA Scholarships
Applications for a variety of awards and scholarships at The University of Western Australia are now open. Year 12 students who are expecting to do well in this year's WACE Examinations, and who are likely to list a UWA course as their first preference, may like to consider the following information in relation to the UWA Fogarty Foundation City and Regional Scholarships and the UWA Vice Chancellor's Awards of Distinction:
- Students wishing to apply for either of these can now do so by visiting the Pandora online application site https://www.grs.uwa.edu.au/Pandora/
- Applications for both of these awards close on Friday 27 September 2013.
- Once students have completed their online application they need to print the application confirmation and the School Principal's endorsement form. They read, sign and send in the application confirmation. They then need to give Peter Frusher the School Principal's endorsement form for him to complete and submit. More information about these and other awards and scholarships offered by UWA can be found by visiting http://www.scholarships.uwa.edu.au/home/undergrad .
- Further information is available by contacting the Scholarships Office on 6488 2807 or undergradschols@uwa.edu.au
.
University Equity Programmes
WA universities offer a variety of entry programmes for students who have experienced disadvantage and disruption during Year 12. Please see Mr Frusher for further information and application procedures.
WACE Examination - Sickness/ Misadventure
If a student's performance in a WACE examination is affected by a temporary sickness, non-permanent disability or unforseen misadventure suffered immediately before or during the examination period OR a student is prevented from attending an examination due to illness or misadventure, a SICKNESS/MISADVENTURE APPLICATION FORM can be obtained from Mr Frusher for completion and forwarding to Schools Standards and Curriculum Authority. There is a long list of reasons that will not be accepted by Curriculum Council but if a student is unsure he needs to check with Mr Frusher.
