Experience the Perth Symphony OrchestraSYMPHONY BY THE LAKE - a Summer Proms Gala Event not to be missed!
On Saturday 9 March, Scotch College is hosting the Perth Symphony Orchestra who will, together with Old Scotch Collegians and current students, perform an outstanding programme of easy-listening music in a beautiful setting. To explain a little about the performance, the orchestra will perform works by Metallica, Prokofiev, Lloyd-Webber and the sound tracks from the TV show "Merlin" and from the hit film "Love Actually" plus popular classics. Think of a traditional "summer proms" concert style of event.
The Scotch College Pipe Band plus a full 50-strong choir featuring boys and girls from Scotch and PLC will also perform with the orchestra bringing the total perfumers on stage to around 160 plus! Liam Salter (OSC 2012) will also be appearing on stage with the orchestra to perform a medley of hits from ACDC and Farnham.
BYO picnic, bottle of wine and blanket or low backed chair. The gates open at 5pm, Scotch College Jazz Band performs at 5.45pm, and the Perth Symphony commences at 7pm. A preparation performance held on Valentine's Day evening in Joondalup sold out - 8000 tickets! For our Scotch College performance on March 9 we are hoping to have more than 2000 tickets sold. Below is a picture taken from the side of the Joondalup stage.
